Tips
- People smoke everywhere including the front of restaurants while eating. Sit inside if this is not your thing.
- The Mona Lisa in the Louvre is not as big as you think. I’m warning you before you keep your hopes up like I did.
- Go to boulangeries for a cheap(er) quick and easy meal.
- When you’re ready, ask for the check. They let you sit around at restaurants to enjoy the food and each other’s company.
- Make sure to go see the Eiffel Tower at night. It doesn’t look that great in the day time.
- You need to pay for public restrooms. I try to avoid them by using a bathroom at any restaurant or attraction I go to.
Day 1
I arrived pretty early in the morning and met up with my friend Julian, who flew in from Spain. We headed towards the hostel, but took separate buses because he book the wrong one. I ended up waiting for a while at the hostel because of course, he missed his stop.
When we finally got settled, in we prioritized eating and then explored. Apparently, our hostel was near the red light district because of all the sex shops that were there along with the Moulin Rouge. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend staying near Sacre Coeur…
Morning: Arrive & travel to hostel
Afternoon: Lunch in Montmartre, Moulin Rouge, Sacre Coeur, Notre Dame, Walk along Seine River towards Garden of Luxembourg
Evening: Dinner in Latin Quarter
Day 2
We had a late start this morning because we overslept so we decided to go do more sightseeing instead of Disneyland like we planned. This day, there was a lot of walking since everything seemed really close to each other, but every walk added up. Not going to complain too much about the views though!
I made sure to give myself plenty of time at each place because it was seriously crowded. Like fighting through to see the Mona Lisa crowded.
Morning: Arc de Triomphe, Champs-Elysees, Walk to Louvre along Seine River
Afternoon: Louvre, Fromader du Marche, Eiffel Tower
Evening: Crepes for dinner, Souvenir shopping
Day 3
All day: Disneyland Paris
I was awaiting Disneyland day! Most people told me not to waste my time here, but I disagree. While the park felt smaller that the one in LA, I thought some of the rides were longer and better. The parades were different as well. It was definitely a day well spent, but unfortunately no fireworks. Still happy about Disney though!
We ended up going back near our hostel for dinner since we didn’t want to travel so much and ended up eating at a place with fois gras and duck confit per the hostel’s recommendation. Definitely our best meal in Paris!
